ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: This presentation is about ways to design integrated capacitive sensors into common products. The electrical design is emphasized and the mechanical design is mentioned. The design is followed for two hypothetical devices 1) a blood pressure sensor at the end of a catheter and 2) a sensor to measure the gap between read/write head and the disk of a hard disk drive. ABOUT PRESENTER: Mr. Weber has helped to comprehend engineering solutions for more than 30 years. He is the Principal at the consulting firm Comprehension Engineering and has a master’s degree in electrical engineering. He is also licensed by the State of Minnesota as a professional engineer. He has experience with many technologies including six sigma, laser gyros, shock and vibration, explosive dynamics, safety, test and measurement, MEMS gyros and computer modeling using various simulation tools.
